Mysterious Project.. Sounds From Hell...?

In 1970, a drilling rig was established on the Kola Peninsula in Russia, in an attempt to drill the deepest borehole in the world. The project, called the Kola Superdeep Borehole, was an ambitious scientific endeavor that aimed to study the Earth's crust and access its inner layers. It was headed by Scientist Dr Azzakov. 

The drilling rig was set up on the eastern shore of the Kola Peninsula, near the town of Zapolyarny. The borehole was drilled using a rotary drilling method, and by 1989, it had reached a depth of 7.5 miles (12 kilometers), making it the deepest borehole in the world at the time.

However, the project was abandoned soon after due to a mysterious phenomenon that occurred during the drilling process. As the drill bit approached the 7.5-mile mark, strange and unexplained sounds were heard coming from the borehole.

The sounds were described as a combination of high-pitched screams and low rumbling noises, which some believed sounded like the screams of tortured souls. Some also speculated that the sounds were coming from hell itself, leading to sensationalized media reports about the project.

The source of the sounds was never fully determined, but it is widely believed to be caused by the geological processes happening deep underground, such as the movement of rock and tectonic plates. The sounds were amplified by the narrow borehole, and the geological structure of the area likely contributed to the eerie and haunting nature of the sounds.

Dr Azzakov later in an interview said that I am an Atheist. I don't believe in GOD but after these sounds i somehow start believing that bad souls are punished somewhere. 

Despite the scientific explanations, the project was ultimately abandoned in 1992 due to unwilling of almost all scientists after these sounds and it was named as  lack of funding.

 Today, the site remains abandoned, and the borehole is sealed with a heavy metal cap, preventing further exploration or study of the deep underground layers.
